I'm glad you are here! If you're here because you are curious about health coaching, or about me as a coach, you're in the right place. My goal is to let you know as much as I can about both.
To start with, what is is health coaching, and how is it different from other types of coaching?
What is health?
Is it eating specific things?
Is it exercising a certain way?
Is it getting 8 hours of sleep?
Is it meditating, communing with nature, or practicing breath work?
Yes... and no.
Yes because it can mean those things... if that's how you define health. And no if you define health differently for yourself.
Health is personal. After all, your health is about you, isn't it?
When it comes time for you to make changes in your health, you should have a say in what you're willing to do.
That's where health coaching comes in. As a health coach my job is to listen to you, to understand your hopes for your life and health, and work with you to decide the steps that make sense to YOU to achieve your goals.
A health coach is different from a life coach in that we're specifically focused on your health where a life coach can help you with your life in general, including career, relationships and day-to-day living.
Whether you’re here because you want to change something about your health or someone else suggested it (a medical professional or loved one), you’re in the right place.
Making a change of any kind can be challenging, daunting, scary, intimidating, strange, and even unwanted - and when it comes to your health, it's personal - and the plan to improve it should be too.

I'm Jeralyn, aka The Good Health Coach. I'm glad you're here, even if you're just a little curious about what exactly a health coach is.
A health coach can mean different things to different people, and for me, it means being your partner, advocate, and guide on a journey to your version of health. As your partner, my role is to listen to you, to encourage you, and to occasionally push you when you need a little pushing.
It’s my passion to show you that you can still choose health in your busy life with benefits including weight loss, more energy, confidence, improved relationships, less stress, and more.
I am a Nationally Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) who studied health coaching at the Duke Integrative School of Medicine. I've also been chosen by the Duke program to be a Coach Training Assistant for new students who are currently going through the program. I have a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southwest Texas State. I worked in the corporate world for 20+ years and am now following my passion and am focused on helping you achieve your version of health!
In additional to helping individuals, I also present virtual Wellness Workshops to small to medium businesses so that I can help even more people know and understand how to take their health into their own hands.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking, meeting new people and spending quality time with friends and family (including our terrier mutt, Henry).
